Reduce, reuse, redesign

"Reduce, reuse, redesign: Lund University as a testbed for tackling the plastic crisis" (funded by Lund University Sustainability Fund, 2024–2025) was a hands-on project where we joined forces with Plastikfreie Stadt (Plastic-Free City) to identify solutions for limiting reliance on single-use plastics at Lund University. It was conducted in three steps:

1. Existing practices

We identified existing practices related to single-use plastics at Lund University, combining our analysis of the context with a participatory approach where we asked campus users to share their ideas.

2. Plastic inventory tool pilots

We advanced and piloted Plastikfreie Stadt's plastic inventory tool at selected sites at the university. The tool helps to visualise, measure and reduce an organisation’s plastic footprint.

3. University guide

We created a university guide for tackling the plastic crisis. Reader-friendly while comprehensive, this guide devises key principles for reducing plastic use at Lund University and beyond
